Welcome to my website! Because of redistricting that happens every ten years, I am running for reelection in a slightly different district that includes new areas.  The new district is number 43B, and includes all or parts of Crystal, Golden Valley, Plymouth, and Robbinsdale.  Feel free to contact me at freiberg@gmail.com. About Mike

Mike was first elected State Representative in 2012, after serving on the Golden Valley City Council for nine years.  As a legislator, Mike has focused on issues related to health care, local government, the environment, and election policy.  He has authored many pieces of legislation that have become law, even though Minnesota is one of only two states with a divided legislature.

Mike grew up in our area and has dedicated his life to public service and his community.  His parents moved to Golden Valley when he was six weeks old, and they still live in the house he grew up in.  Mike is married to Lauren and has two children, Rose and Joseph, who attend public schools. Because of his kids, Mike has a passion for public education.

In his day job, Mike works as an attorney for a nonprofit organization committed to improving public health. He has also worked as an Adjunct Law Professor at Mitchell Hamline School of Law and the University of St. Thomas School of Law, teaching courses in Legislation and Public Health Law.
